How to Choose the Right Wiper Blades for Your Vehicle

Wiper blades are one of the more underappreciated parts of your car. Sure, they’re nice to have when it’s a little bit drizzly outside, and yes, you probably think about wiper blades every time you wash your car. But wiper blades? Who thinks about wiper blades? Let’s change that. Wiper blades are an essential part of your car that you probably don’t think about often. But they’re so crucial to the safety of other road users and your visibility that it’s worth taking some time to learn about the different types of tridon wiper blade available and how to choose the right one for your vehicle.

What Types of Wiper Blades Exist?

There are three main wipers that you can purchase for your car. This first one is for those who prefer the safety glass wiper blades to the rain wipe style and those who prefer one wiper blade over another based on how they find it most comfortable. These windshield wiper blades use an adhesive strip to stick onto the windshield and are available in a gross-to-fine grit range. The rain wipe style uses a small squeegee at the end of the wiping blade, giving you a little more control over how much moisture or snow gets left on your vehicle. Finally, there are what’s known as “all-season” wipers, which use silicone rubber paddles instead of adhesive strips to attach themselves to your windshield. They either grab onto their nearby cars or get pulled off quickly if they’re not connectedly attached. The thicker and stronger the silicone rubber used in these wipers, however, the less likely they will get pulled off by other vehicles passing by you on the road.

If you have a wet windshield after being stuck in the rain for a while, you probably want to use an all-season wiper blade. Not only will these work for when it’s rainy outside, but they’ll also save you some cash because, at the end of the year, you can use them again. If you want a little more control over how much moisture is in your windshield at all times, however, then a rain wipe wiper blade might be better for you. Also known as wet-weather wipers or rain wipers, they come in different grits of sandpaper that allow water to wash off your windshield faster and stick better on rainy days. They’re also more expensive than other types because of the need to have special rubber rims designed to attach to your vehicle rather than hook onto another piece of silicone rubber as other wipers do.

With these types of wipers being more expensive than others and having such different price points and functions based on their material and how easy it is for people passing by to remove them from your vehicle, it can be hard to figure out which one is right for you.
